Christiana Ekaete Olaoye - Managing Director / CEO

Christiana Ekaete Olaoye is the Managing Director/CEO of Energy Commercial Bank Limited. She joined Energy Commercial Bank in April 2016 with over 30 years of post - qualification banking experience spanning various banking organizations in Nigeria and overseas. She holds a Bachelor of Art in Language, an MBA in Banking & Finance, and has attended courses and programs at top business schools around the world. Mrs Olaoye started her banking career in November 1983, gaining experience in various areas that cut across corporate and commercial banking, corporate finance, credit origination and management, loan syndications, import and export trade finance, domestic and foreign operations, liability and asset management, private banking and wealth management as well as relationship management. She started her career as an Executive Trainee at IMB (Nigeria) Limited, and rose through the ranks to become the Executive Director, Business Development at FBN Bank (UK) Limited. In her last role at First Bank of Nigeria limited, she headed the International Banking Department, and was one of the key persons responsible for the establishment of the African subsidiaries in Ghana, Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone and the democratic Republic of Congo. Christiana has had over 15 years of senior management experience working across countries and teams in sub-Saharan Africa, the United Kingdom, France, China, South Africa and the UAE, and building partnerships for strategic growth. Christiana is multi-lingual, speaking English and French, and more than one of the many Nigerian Languages. She is married with children, and passionate about the development of women, and the ministry of the Gospel through music.

Isaac Shedowo - Executive Director

Isaac Shedowo is the Executive Director of Energy Commercial Bank Limited. Prior to his appointment as the Executive Director in March 2016, He was the Acting Managing Director/CEO of Energy Commercial Bank from September 2015 to March 2016. He joined the Bank as the Deputy General Manager - Risk Management, Operations, Information Technology and Customer Loyalty where he had exercised strong leadership roles in risk portfolio management, operations, customer loyalty, strategic planning and information technology within the Bank. He joined Energy Commercial Bank on 18th September, 2012 from United Bank for Africa (Nigeria) Plc where he was the Principal Manager and served as Regional Director (Relief) and exercised leadership over the branches in the region. He has had Banking and Senior Management experience in various capacities with Union Bank, Spring Bank now Heritage Bank and United Bank of Africa in Nigeria. He holds HND in Banking and Finance from Federal Polytechnic Bida, Masters in Business Administration (Finance) from University of Ado Ekiti now Ekiti State University. He is an Associate Member of National Institute of Marketing Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Management, The Institute of Chartered Economist of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria. Edward Akolgo - Head, Human Resource Management

Edward Akolgo is the Bank’s Head of Human Resources with over Twelve (12) years of progressive working experience as an HR practitioner in both the public and private sectors in Ghana. Prior to joining Energy Commercial Bank Limited in September, 2016, he was the Assistant HR Manager at ZoomLion Ghana Limited coordinating performance management systems, training and development including HR policies and systems. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Legon and an MBA (HRM Option) from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon. Also, he holds an Associate Member (Full Professional Qualification in HR) from the Institute of Human Management Practitioners-Ghana (IHRMP-GH) as well as an International Diploma in HR from the Galilee International Management Institute (GIMI), Israel. Edward is a member in good standing with the Human Resource Practitioners Ghana. His areas of expertise include: Performance Management Systems, Compensation and Total Rewards, HR. policies and systems.

George Yarboi - Group Head, Corporates & Institutions

George Yarboi is the Group Head, Corporate & Public Institution Department of Energy Commercial Bank. He joined the banking industry at UT (Metropolitan and Allied bank) bank as an Operations Officer in February 2001 and rose through the ranks to become the Head of Treasury Department. He was once the Operations Manager before his redeployment to treasury as the head of the department, a position he maintained before joining Energy Commercial Bank Ltd in 2011. Prior to becoming the Group Head, Corporate & Public Institution Department of Energy Commercial Bank, he was the Head of the Treasury Department. He holds an MBA in Banking and Finance from the Paris Graduate School of Management (PGSM). He is also a member of the International Professional Managers Association (IPMA).

Kenneth Okine is the Group Head, Retail & Branches of Energy Commercial Bank. He graduated from the University of Cape Coast with a B. A. Degree and also holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. He joined Energy Commercial Bank in 2011 and has over 10 years of industry experience.

Mark Fuachie-Sorbeh - Head, Foreign Operations

Mark Fuachie–Sobreh is the bank’s Head of Foreign Operations. Before joining Energy Commercial Bank, he was Head of Trade Department at Fidelity Bank and also in a much senior role in The Trust Bank Limited. He has had all round training in Ghana, England, Germany, Belgium and Nigeria having a total of 11 years specialized working experience to his credit. Prosper Sossoe - Head, Internal Control & Audit

Prosper Sossoe is the Bank’s Head of Internal Control & Audit. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting option and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) as well as an associate member of the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants, Canada. He is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) both in Ghana and USA, a member of the Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA), USA for which he serves on the Board of the Ghana Chapter and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, USA. Prior to joining Energy Commercial Bank, he was an Internal Control Officer at the Amalgamated Bank Ltd, now Bank of Africa - Ghana and was part of the team that provided risk advisory services, compliance and business process improvement work on diverse business functions. Besides Bank of Africa - Ghana, he has been involved in many assignments providing external audit, corporate governance and risk management services to clients of PKF [Pannell Kerr Foster] Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors in Ghana.

Albert Asare - Head, Treasury

Albert Asare is the Bank’s Head of Treasury department. He joined the banking industry at UBA as a clearing Officer in July, 2006 and rose through the ranks to become the Head of Treasury Operations and Middle Office (Market Risk). He later joined Energy Commercial Bank as Chief Dealer in 2011 and subsequently the Head of Treasury. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Ghana, Legon, Executive Masters of Business Administration in Finance from University of Ghana, Legon. He is a certified member of the Financial Markets Association (ACI).

Ronnie Laryea is the Head of Commercial Banking here at Energy Commercial Bank. He has varied professional background; a Computer Programmer at SoftTribe, Management Consultant at Deloitte, Performance Management and Strategy at Access Bank and Commercial Banking with Energy Commercial Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Legon and an MSc. in Financial Services Management from the University of Surrey, UK.

Joycelyn Ashidam - Head, Legal & Company Secretary

Joycelyn Ashidam is the Head-Legal & Company Secretary of Energy Commercial Bank. Joycelyn is an astute and motivated lawyer whose areas of expertise are in Litigation, Company and Commercial law, and Banking law and practice. Joycelyn continues to lead corporate regulatory compliance, legal contract administration, drafting and negotiating customised agreements with vendors, partners and customers/clients. She is well-grounded in the provision of excellent legal advice and representations. Joycelyn has consistently demonstrated superior analytical skills, relationship management and problem solving skills and has successfully collaborated with and supported various functions/units of the bank, resulting into delivery of superior legal advisory services to the bank, stakeholders and customers. Prior to joining Energy Commercial Bank, Joycelyn was a Legal officer at Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited. Joycelyn also worked as an Associate of Otoo & Associates (Leo Chambers), a litigation and general legal consultancy firm. At Otoo & Associates, Joycelyn excellently represented varied corporate and individual clients successfully, drafted legal documents (Leases, assignments, mortgages, contract agreements etc) and offered general legal consultancies to clients of the firm. Joycelyn obtained her Barrister at Law (BL) degree from the Ghana School of Law and was awarded the ‘Overal Best Graduating Student in Banking Law & Practice’. She also holds LLB from University of Ghana and Bachelor of Arts (hons) in English & Psychology from the University of Ghana. She is admitted to practice law in Ghana and a member in good standing of the Ghana Bar Association.

James Batong-Hor - Head, Private Banking

James Batong-Hor is the Head of Private Banking at Energy Commercial Bank. He has about 16 years work experience, of which 10 years has been with the banking industry. Prior to the commencement of his Banking career, he was a National Logistics Coordinator with OLAM Ghana Ltd. He started his banking career as a Relationship Manager at Intercontinental Bank Ghana and Access Bank Ghana Ltd. He later joined United Bank for Africa (UBA) as a Profit Center Manager. Prior to joining Energy Commercial Bank, he was the Head of Personal and Family Banking at OmniBank Ghana Ltd. He was very instrumental and made significant contributions to the transformation of Union Savings and Loans to OmniBank Ghana Ltd. His areas of expertise include retail and commercial Banking, product development and international trade Finance. He holds a B.A. HONS. Degree in Economics from the University of Cape Coast and a Master’s degree in Finance from the University Of Ghana Business School.

Samuel Koranteng Adjei, Head of Risk

Samuel Koranteng Adjei is a Commonwealth Scholar and a Financial Risk Management professional, having played key roles in Enterprise-Wide Risk Management frameworks at Deutsche Börse Group and Guaranty Trust Bank (Gh) Limited.Samuel is certified by Global Association of Risk Professionals as well as a SAP Certified Application Associate. He is self-motivated and result-oriented professional with core competencies in Corporate Finance, Firm Valuation, International Finance, Financial Risk Management, Empirical Research (Finance) and Business Process Integration. Samuel holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from Oulu Business School and a Master of Management in Banking & Asset Management from HEC Management School. Donald Ayayee - Head, Information Technology

Mr. Ayayee is the Head of Information Technology Department of Energy Commercial Bank. He has about eight (8) years’ work experience in the Information Technology field spanning both geo-spatial and banking industry. He started his career as a geo-spatial database application developer at Centre for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Services (CERSGIS) where he developed spatial applications and serve as consultant for governmental organizations (MiDA, EPA etc). He then moved into the banking Industry as an Application Developer in Amalgamated Bank Ghana Limited now Bank of Africa(BOA) in 2009. He eventually became the Head, Application Development Unit of BOA prior to joining Energy Commercial Bank Limited as a Lead Application Developer/Deputy Head, I.T. in 2011. As Head of I.T. of Energy Commercial Bank since 2015, and managing day to day operations of the department, he creates and maintains information technology and management strategy in line with stakeholder needs and ensuring best practices and compliance to regulatory standards. Mr. Ayayee boasts of a Second Class Upper Division Honors in Bachelor of Science, Computer Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and certifications in Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and Service Oriented Architecture. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in MIS at the Coventry University, UK.

Barbara Renner-Micah - Head, Administration

Barbara Renner-Micah is the Head of Administration here at Energy Commercial Bank. Mrs. Renner-Micah has over ten years’ experience in the financial services industry, mostly in Human Resources and Administration. She also played key roles in Marketing & Branding as well as Corporate Affairs. She began her career at HFC Boafo, a subsidiary of HFC Bank Ghana Ltd. She was one of the pioneers of the institution which started operations in 2007; managing logistics from two to an eventual 29 branches through sheer dedication and commitment. She moved from the positions of Administrative Assistant to the position of Human Resource and Admin Assistant. Prior to joining Energy Commercial Bank, she was the Snr. Administrator at HFC Boafo. Mrs. Renner-Micah holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Bsc -Administration-Human Resource from the Central University College and a Master of Business Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Her skill set are in the area of procurement, fixed asset management, interviewing and selection, strategy development, policy formulation & implementation, event management & execution, performance management, recruitment, on-boarding and employee engagement.

Prosper Botchway - Head, Compliance

Mr. Botchway joined Energy Commercial Bank Limited in March, 2011, as the Head of Administration with responsibility for setting up the Department. Prior to joining the bank, he worked with the Academic Affairs Directorate of the University of Ghana for 11 years. He later served in the Internal Control and Audit Department as an Auditor. Prosper is currently the Head of Compliance of Energy Commercial Bank Limited. He holds Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Administration Degree (Accounting) from University of Ghana, Legon and a student affiliate of the Institute of Chartered Accountant (ICA).

Charles Nixon Yeboah - Head, Corporate Communications & Brand Management

Charles Eric-Nixon Yeboah is the Head of Corporate Communications & Brand Management at Energy Commercial Bank. Before joining Energy Commercial Bank, he was a Senior Communications & Public Relations Officer with Capital Bank. He also worked as a Relationship Manager within the Retail and Corporate Banking departments at Capital Bank. Prior to joining Capital Bank in April 2014, Charles worked extensively in the media, reporting and analyzing business & financial news for about eight years at Citi FM, amongst others. He holds an HND from the Kumasi Polytechnic, a BSc. in Banking And Finance from the UPSA, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from GIMPA and will soon graduate with an MBA in Marketing from GIMPA.
